Legendary Indian Bodybuilder Manohar Aich Dies at 104

Legendary Indian body builder and the country's very first Mr Universe Manohar Aich died at 104. Aich breathed his last at his north Kolkata residence following age related health issues. He won the Mr Universe title in London in 1952 and returned a hero to India, where many took up bodybuilding inspired by his success. He also won several titles when competing in the Asian Bodybuilding Championships. He was known as the “Pocket Hercules” due to his 4 foot, 11 inch (150 centimeter) frame. He began his career as a stunt man performing with a famous magician and would often enthrall the audience by bending steel with his teeth or resting his belly on swords.
