As per new guidelines issued by Ministry of External Affairs in December, 2016, RPOs in India should not insist on duly attested affidavit from parent living abroad and should accept application for issue of passport to minor child on basis on affidavit given by the parent residing in India ( see link to annexure for appropriate annexure).  However, if RPO still insist on production of affidavit, it can be issued on request basis. Requisite documents are:

• Duly Completed (No hand-written forms will be accepted). Date : October 03,2024 Format : PDF Language : English Size : 2 MB
• 1 recent photograph with size ( 5 cm x 5 cm)
• Original passport and its photocopy (first and last page, valid visa page).
• Photocopy of the passport or birth certificate of child
• Annexure D. Date : Dec 24,2025 Format : PDF Language : English Size : 2 MB

First get Approval of Affidavit at High Commission of India from 9.00 AM to 05.30 PM (Monday to Saturday) and need to do payment at ICAC

First, obtain approval of the affidavit at the High Commission of India between 9.00 AM and 5.30 PM (Monday to Saturday). Payment is to be made at ICAC.
